My work is focused on unravelling the process behind both artistic creation and self-realization.
When I paint, every brushstroke is critical and calculated, playing an invaluable role in shaping the piece. I break down colors into their fundamental components, layering tones and shades with thick impasto brushstrokes to weave a sculptural tapestry that is rich, tactile and vibrant. My subject matter is centered around youthful environments, activities, and crowds. Here, figures undergo a purposeful deconstruction, their form woven into their environment in a way that dissolves the boundaries between self and surroundings. With this approach, I hope to dismantle youth culture into its chaotic essence of uncertainty and vitality and invite viewers to contemplate the complexities of early adulthood and how our surroundings shape our individuality.
I encourage viewers to spend time with my work and allow it to unfold gradually. With every moment of observation, new details will begin to emerge: subtle shifts in color, previously unseen marks, even evolving figures and relationships within the composition. In this way, you can witness the full arc of my artistic process within the final piece.
